At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Chrysler showed off its new and improved Uconnect system. This updated connectivity service now includes a new Uconnect smartphone app that lets drivers set navigation destinations, locate their cars with their phones, and get a health report, all without sitting in the driver’s seat.
A health report is a monthly email that shows the car’s vital statistics, including the status of the engine, transmission, suspension, fluid levels, and more. The car can even alert you if there are any critical issues that need immediate maintenance.
Additionally, you’ll never have to worry about trying to find your car in a crowded parking lot again. Simply access the Vehicle Finder option and you can see exactly where your car is. Then, you can select Find Route or Sound Horn to be guided directly to your car.
“The Uconnect team is dedicated to delivering services and features that are innovative, functional and most of all easy to use,” said Al Amici, Head of Global Uconnect System and Services, FCA US LLC, in a statement. “We understand that our customers lead busy lifestyles and our goal is to minimize the everyday stresses by providing drivers with a variety of ways to stay conveniently connected to their vehicle.”
The new Uconnect services will work with the Uconnect 8.4A and 8.4AN systems and will initially only be available on select 2015 Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep models.
