Dodge seems to have some pretty clear resolutions for 2015; the auto company is continuing to shed its “family image” in favor of a more rough-and-tough attitude, targeted to a younger male audience, starting with vehicles like the Charger SRT Hellcat, which can go 204 mph.
In fact, Chrysler is calling the Hellcat the “fastest production sedan on Earth,” hardly an advertisement aimed at an average family looking to head to soccer practice. The auto company hopes that this Dodge image change will increase its sales by switching its audience.
Chief executive officer of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV, Sergio Marchionne, believes that there’s an American niche longing for this change. “There’s a lot of work to be done,” he said in an interview, adding, “But there is a unique place in the American mind for Dodge. And we need to satisfy that need.”
