The 2018 Jeep® Compass is racking up the awards, including a recent accolade from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) for being a Top Safety Pick. Winners of this award must pass a series of rigorous crash tests, earning Good ratings in five areas. With a range of technologies and intelligent engineering, the Jeep® Compass was well suited for the tests.
In addition to airbags and ABS, the Compass also comes with features like Electronic Roll Mitigation and Electronic Stability Control, both of which prevent rollovers and improve traction. There’s also a standard ParkView™ rear backup camera on 4×4 models, and the Rain Brake Support system is great for driving on wet surfaces.
According to the NY Daily News, Jeep® Compass safety features include available systems like Full Speed Forward Collision Warning to warn you of potential collisions. There’s also an Advanced Safety and Lighting Group package for owners who want to optimize safety.
In IIHS testing, the Compass scored well in a recently introduced category that focuses on passenger-side small overlap testing, and it scored a Superior rating (the highest possible) when it came to crash avoidance.
The IIHS is the industry watchdog when it comes to safety, so its Top Safety Pick rating for the 2018 Jeep® Compass is a major honor. Here at Coronet CDJR, we’re proud to offer the safety-conscious 2018 Compass.
