Chicago is one of the biggest and most culturally diverse cities in the US, making it an incredible destination all year long, but especially fabulous during the holidays. Here are some fun ways to spend your weekends and winter break in the Windy City.
One thing you and your kids will love is ZooLights, held at the Lincoln Park Zoo. Featuring ice carving demonstrations, hot drinks, and even special glasses for viewing the lights, this event is the perfect place to spend an evening.
There’s also the Christkindlmarket, Chicago’s largest open air market that sells traditional German food, drinks, and other paraphernalia like wooden handcrafts and hand-blown glass tree ornaments. Chicago holds an annual tree-lighting ceremony in Millennial Park with lots of events for kids, too!
If you’d rather do something indoors, like go see a show, Chicago offers that as well. Holiday classics like The Nutcracker ballet and the play version of A Christmas Carol will be playing at the Auditorium Theatre and Goodman Theatre, respectively, throughout December.
We hope this compilation of things to do in Chicago during the holidays has given you some great ideas on how to spend some quality time with your family while enjoying this incredible city. We at Coronet Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram wish you a happy holiday season!
