It isn’t every day that an automaker reveals an entire set of concept vehicles, especially not before a big event. Fortunately for Jeep enthusiasts, that’s exactly what the automaker did ahead of the annual Easter Jeep Safari. The new Jeep concept vehicles will feature a variety of new styles rolling through the desert in Utah.
Hot rod fans will find the newest Wrangler concept design right up their alley. Named the Quicksand concept, the Wrangler features eight injector stacks that rise through the hood. Beneath them lies a Mopar 392 Crate HEMI engine. The rear even has a recovery rope to replace a drag-strip parachute.
“Go fast and look good … and if you’re not smiling, get out,” said Mark Allen, head of Jeep design, in regard to the Wrangler Quicksand concept.
A second concept titled the Wrangler Safari features a translucent roof and doors. The lightweight panels are completely see-through and are made of aluminum and vinyl. Under the hood lies a monster of a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission.
A total of seven Jeep concept vehicles were on display at Fiat Chrysler headquarters. The 51st annual Easter Safari kicked off on April 8th and runs through the 16th. Here at Coronet CDJR, we can’t wait to see the new concepts at the event.
